LiFi
LiFi is a wireless optical networking technology that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for data transmission.
LiFi is designed to use LED light bulbs similar to those currently in use in many energy-conscious homes and offices. However, LiFi bulbs are outfitted with a chip that modulates the light imperceptibly for optical data transmission. LiFi data is transmitted by the LED bulbs and received by photoreceptors.
Poke Around With Marshmallow
Google on Monday announced the official SDK for Android 6.0, aka "Marshmallow." It also opened Google Play for devs to publish apps that target the new API Level 23 in Marshmallow. Google further updated the Android Support Library to v23, giving devs an easier way to make new platform APIs, such as permissions and fingerprint support, backward compatible. "Google is more interested in the journey than the destination," said Ryan Martin, an analyst at 451 Research. It does the same thing with wearables, cars and homes, he told TechNewsWorld. "The real question is, how does this fit into the longer-term picture for Google?"
